          Colubrina general descriptions

    
Colubrina is a genus which includes approximately 30 species of flowering plants. This plant can be found in tropical regions from Africa, America, Southeast Asia, Northern Australia and Indian Ocean islands.

  
The generic name "colubrina" is derived from the Latin word "Coluber", meaning "snake", which refers to the plant stems are in the form of a snake.

   

       Colubrina species are small bushes and trees, they can reach from 1-10 meters.
     Colubrina plant flowers are small white or yellowish-green and the fruit is a capsule which contains three seeds.

   Colubrina Asian, in fact originally from tropical Asia, Africa, Eastern and Northern Australia, has become an invading species in Florida and from USA.
